In A Hurry?
What To Do If Time Is Running Out
If your interview is in the next 24 hours, there are 3 things you must do before you continue surfing:
- Sort out your interview clothes
- Double-check your directions & interview time
- Pack your bag of stuff to take with you
|
|
Once you've covered the absolute essentials, then you're ok to read on and find out how to make the most of the last few hours before your interview.
When you've only got 24 hours to go, there's a limit to how much you can do.
|
| Your priorities should include: |
TOP TIP
|
- Finding out the bare minimum about the company
Review the company's website - at least! It's almost not worth going to the interview if you haven't done this...
- Choose questions to ask the interviewer(s)
Don't ruin a great interview performance by finishing with "Err, no..." when asked if you have any questions.
Make sure you know how to choose good questions to ask.
|
Even if you just have a couple of hours left, there's plenty you can do to boost your interview chances. |
- Review your CV / Resume / Application
It might be months since you wrote it, so make sure you can remember what's in it. Many a candidate has lost a job offer because they couldn't remember the roles / achievements / dates in their application form. It's an instant credibility killer.
- Find out what to expect
Make sure you know about the main types of job interview, common job interview tests, as well as how to handle tough questions. If you have time, it's worth thinking about answers to the top 10 job interview questions, too.
- Be able to explain why they should hire you
If you're not clear about why they should give you the job, how can you expect to convince the interviewer?
Even just 1 or 2 reasons is a great start.
- Deal with your nerves
There's plenty you can do to deal with job interview nerves. Make sure you get a good night's sleep and know how to do yourself justice tomorrow.
If the interview is in the next few days, you probably don't have time to keep surfing the web for job interview advice.
24 Hours To Go could be the resource you're looking for.
It distills the masses of job interview advice you need into a concise, valuable e-book that will take you no more than 2 hours to go through. 24 Hours To Go
No matter how soon the interview is, you'll know exactly what to do, to maximise your chances of getting the job offer.
