Why Ask Questions In A Job Interview?

You're a job interview candidate: why should you ask questions?

Why ask questions at the end of a job interview? To make a great final impression.

Candidates are usually given an opportunity to ask questions, traditionally at the end of the job interview.

Disappointingly, many ruin a great interview performance by looking blank and almost running for the door.

Yet the purpose of these questions isn't just courtesy, to give you a chance to ask about the canteen. It's also used to make judgments about your level of enthusiasm for the job and, depending on the role, your analytical skills.

That said, don't worry too much about which questions to ask. The main thing is to have thought about them beforehand.

  TOP TIP
It's ok to write them down and refer to them in the interview.
You can avoid asking any that have already been covered - and making the interviewer think you weren't paying attention.

If the company has arranged for you to have more than one interview in a day (often the case), then have some extra questions - or maybe ask questions about the interviewer's opinions, so you can gather different viewpoints.
